Transforming Campus Comfort: The i2Cool Initiative and STEM Workshop
23/09/2026
The South Wing of our campus has recently undergone a remarkable environmental transformation, thanks to the enduring generosity and devotion of our alumnae from the Class of 1988. Through their continued support, we have successfully installed i2Cool cooling film across 18 classrooms, the G/F Art Room, and the School Office. The impact of this upgrade is already being felt daily by students and staff. Room temperatures are noticeably lower, solar glare is softened, and our learning spaces are now shielded from harmful UV rays. By utilizing electricity-free passive radiative cooling technology, which simultaneously reflects sunlight and radiates heat away, we have significantly enhanced the comfort and sustainability of our daily campus life. Beyond the facility upgrade, this initiative provided an exceptional STEM learning opportunity. The i2Cool team, led by a professor involved in the material's invention, visited the school to conduct an interactive workshop for the girls. They shared the fascinating story of how i2Cool originated as a university research project, offering our students a firsthand look at how scientific innovation can be deployed to solve real-world problems.
